What a Kotak e-statement PDF looks like
Kotak statements — regular savings, current, and 811 — follow the same tabular layout. The header carries the account details; the body is one transaction table:
- Account number — regular savings and current accounts use a 14-digit number; Kotak 811 digital accounts use an 8-digit number. The statement shows your branch, IFSC (KKBK0…) and period covered.
- Opening balance row — the table starts with an OPENING BALANCE line and ends with a closing balance and transaction count.
- Transaction table — five columns: Date, Narration, Chq/Ref No., Withdrawal (Dr) / Deposit (Cr), Balance.
The password is your CRN — and it's 'Narration', not 'Particulars'
Two things to know before you convert a Kotak statement:
- The PDF is password-protected with your CRN. The Customer Relationship Number is printed on your debit card and in your welcome kit, and is visible inside the Kotak Mobile Banking app. You can also get it by sending CRN from your registered mobile number. Enter the CRN during upload and the file converts like any other.
- The description column is called Narration. Most Indian banks label it 'Particulars', so parsers tuned for other banks fail on Kotak files. The converter is trained on Kotak's actual column layout, and long narrations that wrap across lines are stitched back into a single transaction row.
811 statements convert the same way
Kotak 811 accounts use the same underlying statement table as regular accounts — just with an 8-digit account number and often shorter histories. A 811 statement exports to Tally XML through the exact same flow.

Download the statement from Kotak NetBanking or the Kotak Mobile Banking app (811 included), then upload it. If the PDF is password-protected, enter your CRN when prompted.
Unlock with your CRN if prompted
Kotak encrypts its e-statements with your Customer Relationship Number. Enter it during upload — no need to unencrypt the file first.
Download Tally XML
Export a Tally-ready XML file and import it via Gateway of Tally → Import Data → Vouchers. CSV export is included too.
