What a BoB e-statement PDF looks like
Bank of Baroda statements downloaded from NetBanking follow a consistent layout. The header carries the account details; the body is a transaction table:
- Account details — customer name, branch and statement period at the top; dates in dd/MM/yyyy format.
- Transaction table — six columns: Date, Description, Cheque/Ref No., Debit, Credit, Balance.
- No password — the BoB statements we tested, downloaded from NetBanking, opened directly with no encryption.
'Description' — and a payment-type prefix on every row
Two things to know before you convert a BoB statement:
- The column is called Description. Most banks use 'Narration' or 'Particulars'; BoB uses Description. The converter reads the actual header, so this never causes a missed column.
- Every row leads with the payment type. Descriptions start with UPI/…, NEFT/…, ATM/… or ACH/… — a reliable way to categorize transactions while you map ledgers in Tally.
Long statements are fine
BoB files can run to ten pages or more for a busy account. The converter processes long statements page by page — longer files just use more of your page quota.
Convert a BoB statement in three steps
Upload your BoB statement PDF
Download the statement from Bank of Baroda NetBanking (bob World or the web portal), then upload it. The tested files opened directly — no password needed.
Preview the extracted transactions
BoB labels its description column 'Description'. Check the rows — the UPI, NEFT, ATM and ACH prefixes at the start of each description help you spot the payment type at a glance.
Download Tally XML
Export a Tally-ready XML file and import it via Gateway of Tally → Import Data → Vouchers. CSV export is included too.
This works for savings and current account statements from Bank of Baroda. If your bank isn't BoB, the same flow covers 21 other tested Indian banks — see the full converter.
Importing the XML into Tally
Once you've downloaded the XML, open Tally Prime and go to Gateway of Tally → Import Data → Vouchers, then select the file. New to the import step? Read the step-by-step import guide.
